Dec. 3, 2024:
AUBURN, Ala. – Effective Dec. 2, the outdoor water fountains are winterized and closed at all City of Auburn parks and playgrounds to prevent damage from freezing temperatures.
This seasonal closure is part of routine maintenance to ensure the water fountains remain in good condition for public use. The fountains will reopen in the spring when warmer weather allows for safe operation.
While water fountains will be unavailable, all park and playground bathrooms will remain open during regular park hours.
The City of Auburn encourages park-goers to plan accordingly by bringing their own water bottles. For updates and more information about park amenities and operations, visit openline.auburnalabama.org or follow Auburn Parks and Recreation on social media @coaparksandrec.
